There are a few houses in the neighborhood with cute names. Even though Uncle Charlie says its pretentious, I have been trying to come up with some good ideas. "Pineknot" was the name of Ryan's grandfather's lobster boat in Vinalhaven, ME. Maybe we will go with that. Maybe even "Vinylhaven" itself since we have awful vinyl siding on the sides of our house.

ReplyDeleteI believe I am friends with the current owner of that boat. My family has used her for the last two summers while in Maine, hoping to do it again this year. Would love to hear more history of the boat and family if you'd care to share.

Ryan's grandfather was the only lobsterman who wouldn't name his boat after his wife. Before the Pine Knot, he had the "JellyBean," his favorite candy. This seems just about right knowing how both Ryan and our son love candy. Will inquire more and let you know! Ive shared the photo on Google+.
